Shell’s business objective in China is to help address the country’s energy priorities including energy supply/security, environmental protection and energy efficiency, working in partnership with Chinese companies and customers to mutual benefit both in China and overseas.

This includes support of the government’s commitment to improve the environmental performance and efficiency of today’s coal-based industry, and introduce clean energies to fuel the rapidly growing economy in a sustainable way.

Shell is concentrating on natural gas and new ways of using coal as well as providing consultancy services on energy efficiency and technological solutions.

In our fuels, lubricants, bitumen and chemicals businesses, we offer the latest technological and environmental solutions to contribute to sustainable development.

All Shell’s core businesses are represented in China: Exploration and Production, Gas and Power, Downstream (Oil Products and Chemicals) and Renewable Energy.

Responsibilities:

Planning & Appraisal
- Support Downstream Controller/Deputy Controller to provide specialist finance input to T&R planning and budgeting,as well as strategic and portfolio activities.
- Coordinate and lead the DS FN organisation in operationalising their respective budgets and provide financial advice to all the support functions and satellite units of Global support functions in the management of their budgets.

Accounting Policy & Compliance
- Double-hat as Finance Managers for operating companies (6 entities) to ensure proper compliance at legal entity level,overall understanding on legal entity for its business scope,business operation,investment and financing perspective,organization structure,control framework (including Manual Of Authorities,Financial Control Manuals,etc),and co-ordinate to maintain the relationship with government authority (legal,tax,State Administration of Foreign Exchange etc.); assist in risk-based management and effective governance,financial and business controls to support business growth.

Inter-Company/Intra-Group Controls
- Provide financial advice on the setting up of global and regional units in country for the provision of intra-group activities and services in accordance with group guideline,which will include the creation of appropriate Service Level Agreements (SLAs) which will comply with fiscal and legal requirements and support an efficient and effective intra-group recoveries and settlement process.

Requirements:

- Degree in the areas of Finance or Accounting and professional certification(s) (CPA, ACCA or CIMA) preferred with 5-plus years experience
      - Strong technical knowledge, analytical skills and experience to provide accounting and financial advice to finance colleagues and managers
     - Highly disciplined in meeting deadlines and ability to deliver results under pressure
     - Team work focused to deliver results and good communication and interpersonal skills
     - Ability to work effectively with local teams and virtual team in Finance Operations and relevant stakeholders at Group level
    - SAP knowledge and controls
    - Fluent Spoken/Written Chinese/English skills.
